Status Board App - Installing and Managing

The following article gives administrators and agents a detailed overview of the Status Board App. The Status Board app allows users to add a service message to see when there is an updated status about the service, if the service is a slight service interruption, moderate service interruption, or unavailable.

The status board does not integrate with any third-party applications and requires manual updates in Incident IQ.

Installing the Statue Board App

Left navigation, click Incident IQ Apps, then click on the Browse tab. Status Board App is under the section called Utilities. Also, you can search for the app in the search bar.

Click on the Status Board app and then click the Install button. On step one and two, click the continue button. Then on step three, click the Install App button. Step four, your status board app, has been successfully installed.

Managing Services

Before you can add a service message, you have to create the service. Go to the Incident IQ Apps left navigation and click on the Manage tab. Find and click on the Status Board App.

Begin by going to the Services tab. Next, click on the Manage Services button in the top right corner.

At the bottom left corner, click on +Add New.

Enter in the name of the service, and click Add.

Next, click the Save button.

Please note that you can rename, delete, and disable the service from the Manage Available Service screen.

Adding a Service Message

Under the service tab, click on the +Add Service Message. Next, fill out the following fields:

  • Service(s) Affected - Select from the drop-down menus the services affected.

  • Status - Select from the drop-down menu the status of the service (low, medium, high).

  • Additional Service Notes - Add any additional notes you want your users to see.

  • Additional Options - Toggle on if you want this service message to be disabled.

Click Save.

Please note: Changes made in the app can take up to 30 minutes to show for all users.

Settings Tab

The settings tab provides a small HTML snippet that allows status boards to be rendered on other websites.

Next, you can control where the status board banner is displayed and to whom based on user roles. There are three options for where to display it:

  • Dashboard Banner

  • New Ticket Banner

  • Header Status Icon

Editing/ Deleting a Service Message

Click on the edit icon under the Options column to edit or delete an announcement. You can edit the fields and then click Save. Alternatively, you can click the Delete button to delete the status message.
