Locations and different schools can be of different types, i.e., Elementary, Intermediate, High Schools, Central Offices, etc. Incident IQ provides several out-of-the-box location types, but a user can create a new custom location type per their needs.
Create Location Type
To create a new location type in Incident IQ, go to Places > Location Types page and select Add Location Type near the top right of the page.
Enter the name of the location type and select Save. The new location type has been added to iiQ.
There is a name validation check when saving a new location type to prevent duplication. If a duplicate exists when attempting to save, the following error message will be displayed, and the user will be prevented from saving.
Delete Location Type
Location Types can be deleted after selecting the Location type from the list view and clicking on Delete.
After clicking delete, a validation will run to identify if the Location Type is associated with any Locations. The system will not allow the Location Type to be deleted if there are any associations.
Once the system confirms no associations, a message will be displayed indicating that it is safe to delete the location type.
If the system identifies associations, the following message will be displayed and the user will not be able to delete the Location Type. The message identifies the number of locations that are associated with the Locations Type. To be able to delete the Location Type it must be removed from all Locations.
Create Room Type
To create a new room type in Incident IQ, go to Places > Room Types page and select Add Room Type near the top right of the page.
Name the room type with a short descriptive name and click Save. Scope indicates that the event type will be applied sitewide. The new room type has been added to iiQ.
