Do you need certain authorized users to have permission to view all upcoming events, along with their details, that are scheduled at a particular location? Alternatively, do you need a specific user to have the ability to manage events at specific locations? This can be accomplished by granting specific permissions to these users.
Users with the appropriate permissions will now have access to events only in specific locations where they have viewing rights or if they are the designated owner of the event (My Events). If a user lacks the "Manage Events" permission, they will not have the ability to click on the Calendar to create new events.
Manage Events | Reveals Events section on the left navigation as well as the New Event button on the left navigation. |
View Events | Reveals Events > All Events and Upcoming Events on the left navigation. |
You can customize these permission settings by specifying location conditions to restrict the event locations that can be viewed and managed.
Applying these Events permissions to Faculty and Staff roles must be set in the Ticketing product.
Applying these Events permissions to Admin and Agent roles must be set in every product.
Requestor Role WITHOUT View or Manage Event Permissions
Once logged in, they will be able to access "My Events" listed in the left-hand navigation. This feature allows them to conveniently review all the event requests that they have submitted/own.
Requestor Role WITH View Event Permissions
In the image(s) below, the user is limited to viewing events and only has access to specific sections on the Left Nav menu, namely Upcoming Events, All Events, Custom Views, and My Events. Within these sections, they are able to view events based on their Location permissions.
Additionally, they have visibility into events they own, regardless of their location permissions. For example, if a user has permission to view Location A events but owns an event at Location B, they will still be able to see the Location B event.
Notably, users are unable to create, edit, or delete events. The Add Event button is not accessible, and they cannot initiate the creation of a new event by clicking on the Calendar.
Requestor Role WITH Manage Event Permissions
In the images below, the user has the Manage Events permission and can access specific sections on the Left Nav menu, such as Upcoming Events, All Events, Custom Views, and My Events. Within these sections, they can view events based on their Location permissions.
Furthermore, they have visibility into events they own, regardless of their location permissions. For instance, if a user has permission to view Location A events but owns an event at Location B, they will still be able to see the Location B event.
The users can create, edit, or delete Events, so the Add Event button is present. They can also click on the Calendar and create a new event.
