Ticket and Work Order Prefixes

Important: In iiQ Facilities, tickets are called work orders.

Ticket IDs feature product-specific prefixes that clearly indicate the associated product, minimizing confusion. These prefixes are utilized across the Incident IQ modules.

  • T-12345 → iiQ Ticketing

  • F-12345 → iiQ Facilities

  • E-12345 → iiQ Events

  • HR-12345 → iiQ HRSD

  • R-12345 → iiQ Resources

  • CM-12345 → iiQ Change Management

In addition to the prefix, tickets will also include visual indicators such as:

  • Icon: A product-specific icon

  • Color: A product-specific color

Please note that when a ticket or work order is moved between modules, only the product-specific color and icon update automatically to reflect the new module; the prefix remains unchanged from the default.

Managing Ticket ID Prefixes

Ticket ID prefixes can be managed using the ‘Ticket Number Format’ site option. To access this setting, navigate to Admin → Site Options → Number Format.

Configuration Details:

  • Default Display: The site option appears as a format string.

    • e.g., "F-{counter}" for Facilities and "T-{counter}" for IT Ticketing

  • Customization: Admins can edit this field to use a custom prefix if the default is not preferred.

    • Custom prefixes should not exceed 200 characters.

  • Visual Consistency: Modifying the prefix does not affect product-specific colors; only the prefix is updated.

The 'Ticket Number Format' site option is product-specific and must be updated for each product if you do not want to use the default prefixes. Changes made in one module will not automatically apply to others.

  • For example, if you want to change "F-{counter}" to "custom-{counter}" for Facilities work orders, you must update the site option within the Facilities module.
