How to Link Assets

The Linked Assets feature allows you to tie devices together for ease of reference and can be used in various situations. From establishing a relationship between a computer and a monitor in a system to connecting all the computers in a tab together.

Linking a Single Asset

You can quickly link two assets together to establish a visible relationship in Incident IQ. To do so, begin by clicking on the Linked Assets tab.

Next, you’ll want to click on the Link Asset button.

At this point, a pop-up window will appear. You can look up and select the device you would like to link this asset to.

At this point, you’ll now see the linked device appear in the Linked Assets list.

Linking Multiple Assets

Instead of establishing a link between two individual assets, you can easily link multiple assets to a single asset using the bulk link assets option. To do so, begin by selecting the assets you want to link with another asset. Underneath the column names, you’ll see a set of options appear. Click on Other > Link to asset or Unlink from asset.

At this point, a pop-up window will appear. You can look up and select the device you would like to link these assets to or unlink from.

Linked Assets Column

The Linked Assets column in the Assets grid lets you view associated assets in a user-friendly, scrollable format. This column can also be included when exporting to a CSV file.
