LocknCharge - Installing

LocknCharge - Installing

LocknCharge is a hardware and software solution to efficiently charge, store, and secure phones, tablets, laptops, and other mobile devices.

The LocknCharge integration with Incident IQ enables remote management of FUYL storage towers and workflows directly from tickets within the iiQ platform. The integration automates workflows around device check-in/out, break/fix, shared devices, and loaner devices secured via bays in LocknCharge towers.

Pre-requisites

Any districts wishing to use this integration must have the following products:

  • iiQ Ticketing & iiQ Assets

  • LocknCharge FUYL tower

    • The integration supports both 5-bay and 15-bay FUYL tower models.

    • This tower must be fully onboarded and connected to the LocknCharge Cloud Platform.

  • LocknCharge Advanced Cloud Portal for each tower

In addition to the items listed above, the district will also need to purchase the iiQ/LocknCharge FUYL integration, as this is a premium integration.

Getting Started

Connecting LocknCharge Towers to the Cloud

Before configuring the integration, the district must first ensure that all towers they’d like to manage via the FUYL integration are fully onboarded and connected to the LocknCharge Cloud Portal.

Please note that Incident IQ cannot assist with troubleshooting any issues related to towers being disconnected from the Cloud Portal; however, the following guides may be helpful for troubleshooting issues with tower connectivity:

Generate a new App Client

To generate a client for the iiQ/LocknCharge integration, a user must have Owner Admin access in the LocknCharge Cloud platform. Any LocknCharge Owner Admin will need to navigate to the Integrations page from the left navigation panel and click the +New App Client button from the first tab.

After creating a new app client, the district will want to enter these credentials in the iiQ LocknCharge app interface by going to Incident IQ Apps > Manage > LocknCharge > Overview tab.

The input fields for app client credentials will validate after the user clicks Save from this page. After clicking the Save option, the app within iiQ will call the LocknCharge API in order to:

  1. Verify that the provided app client credentials are valid

  2. If the app is successfully authenticated, the app will additionally create a webhook in the district’s LocknCharge portal. Please do not delete this webhook in LocknCharge, as it is critical for accurately syncing workflow progression in iiQ.

  3. If the app is successfully authenticated, iiQ will also scan for active towers on the district’s LocknCharge FUYL account. These towers will be listed in the “Discoverable Stations” tab within the LocknCharge app in iiQ.

Lastly, you will need to set the workflow in the FUYL cloud portal to managed for any towers you plan to utilize the integration for. This allows the bays to be controlled by IIQ. First, select the specific tower and navigate to the setting tab.

At this point, the district has completed the initial configuration process, the integration is functional in Incident IQ. However, there are a few remaining settings for user preferences that admins are encouraged to take a look at before using the integration for ticketing workflows.
