Permission to Reset Passwords

Instructions

  1. In Active Directory Users & Computers, create a service account user
    (ex, iiQ.Passwords)

  2. In Active Directory Users & Computers, make sure View > Advanced Features is enabled

  3. Right-click on the root of the domain, choose “Delegate Control…”

  4. Add in your service account

  5. Delegate the following common tasks: Reset user passwords and force password change at next logon (Next > Finish)

  6. Right-click on the root of the domain again, choose “Delegate Control…”

  7. This time select “Create a custom task to delegate”

  8. Only the following objects in the folder: User objects

  9. “Property-specific” only, check Read & Write lockoutTime (Next > Finish)
