Introduction to Custom Views
Definition: Custom Views are saved, filtered searches for Tickets, Assets, and Users.
How to create: Create new views from the left sidebar. Click the New View button to open the View Designer window.
Functionality: You can add filters to curate specific data sets, as well as sort, reorder, and hide columns to manipulate how data is displayed.
Creating a Custom View
Name the View: Enter a name for your custom view in the View Designer window.
Add Filters: Select Add Filter to open the filter selection window.
Define Data: Select the specific data to display.
Add Multiple Filters: Repeat the "Add Filter" process as needed to make your view as broad or specific as you like.
Columns Tab
The Columns tab allows you to configure the information displayed in your view.
Add/Delete: Quickly add or delete columns of data.
Reorder: Rearrange the data options listed under Selected Columns.
Note: The top-to-bottom order in this list translates to a left-to-right placement of columns in your view.
Display Settings: Use the bottom of this tab to set sorting preferences and the total number of items displayed per page.
Sharing Tab
You can share your custom view with other agents, admins, or teams after you’ve saved your custom view.
Access: When viewing your custom view, click View Settings in the upper-right corner.
Navigate: Select the Sharing tab.
Share: Select the desired user(s) or teams from the drop-down menu. Once added, the view will appear alongside their existing custom views.
Permissions/Ownership: Select the Pencil icon next to a user to change their access level or transfer ownership.
Important: If you make another user the owner of a shared view, deleting the view on your end will also remove it from that user's account.
Accessing Custom Views
Custom views are located in the left navigation bar under the Views section for Tickets, Assets, or Users.
Editing and Deleting Custom Views
Navigate to the view and click View Settings.
Edit: Modify your view in the View Designer as needed.
Delete: Click Delete View in the bottom-left corner of the window.
Managing Shared Views
To control the visibility of views shared with you, navigate to Views and click the Manage Shared Views link.
Adding Custom Views to your Dashboard
Add views directly to your Incident IQ dashboard for quick access upon login.
Click your profile options (in the upper-right corner) and select Options to open the dashboard designer.
Your custom views appear at the bottom under Available Components.
Add them to your Dashboard Layout and select a width:
+50% width
+66% width
+100% width
Drag and drop components to rearrange their display order.
Work Calendar Tab
Context: This tab appears on ticket custom views.
Function: Provides a dedicated Work Calendar page to review all tickets with due dates.
Behavior: The calendar view automatically aligns with the filters in your custom view, enabling efficient deadline tracking.
