iiQ Resources - FAQ: When must an asset tag be assigned to generic assets and consumables? Do we have an Inventory Tag ready for each consumable model to import the models?

Models do not require an inventory tag initially. After importing your models, you can create a consumable asset. You can do this either manually or by importing it. When you create the consumable asset, you must provide an inventory tag.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Create a Resource Group.

  2. Create an Asset type.

  3. Create a Manufacturer. It can be imported or created manually.

  4. Create a Model Category (Parent/Child). It can be imported or created manually.

  5. Create a Model. It can be imported or created manually.

  6. Create an Asset (this one will require an Asset/Inventory Tag). It can be imported or created manually.
