iiQ Events - Mapping Custom Field in iiQ Events

What is Custom Field Mapping For?

Mapping Custom Fields from the Event Reservation Request Ticket to the Event allows users of the iiQ Events product to ask requesters if they need various resources or amenities for an event. Then use the answers from those custom fields to trigger a rule to automate things like IT Tickets or Facilities Tickets to set up for an event. This will also keep the custom fields in sync when viewing the event details in multiple locations.

Example: The custom field could be “Need rearrangement of tables and chairs?” If the requestor answers “yes,” then we can trigger a rule to create a ticket in the facilities module for this event. If the requestor answers “no,” then we do not need a ticket to be created.

Custom fields appear in 3 places:

  1. On the Event Request Ticket (for requesters to answer)

  2. The Event Details on the Ticket

  3. The Event Details are accessible from an Events List / Calendar (Admin access)

On the Event Request Ticket (Requesters Answering)

On the Event Details on the Ticket

On the Full Event Details (Admin Side)

First, you will need to create and apply the custom fields to Events and Tickets. Please see the knowledge base guide below on how to create custom fields for events:

After you have created and applied custom fields, you are now able to Map Custom Fields.

If new fields were just added, HARD REFRESH THE PAGE for the new field to be available in mapping.

Creating the Mapping

  1. Click the + NEW MAPPING top right corner.

  2. Use the dropdowns for the Source iiQ Product and Target iiQ Product.

    1. Choose Ticketing as the SOURCE

    2. Choose Events as the TARGET

  3. For both SOURCE and TARGET, select the custom field that the user would like to map.
